Heads Up WARNING: I found out the Xfinity branded modem are LEASED only by Xfinity/Comcast. I bought one from eBay and it turns out to not registerable to my account since it was on someone else's contract. I shall retract this if I am wrongGot the Arris TG862G to replace the rented Xfinity.comcast modem. Dialed the 800 xfinity support number, registered the C MAC number and Xfinity checks your modem from their office. They download a configuration for HS internet only (modem supports 2 line
VOIP and I don't do VOIP).Works great after I setup the user passphrase. The instruction mentioned an accessory 6 to 12 Li-ion battery-backup pack; checked bottom of modem and there is the battery cover. My modem came with a 8 HOUR ARRIS ARCT02220 BN backup battery for TG852G .NOTE: take the battery out during setup to make sure the system reboots from power off condition. Before starting to install a used modem, do a factory reset...

It always shows you good connection, full bars, but you just cannot stream videos from Netflix or sites alike. Very frustrating. I have to reboot it on daily basis. Hate it.

Comcast did a great job of hooking up the box. They did every thing over the phone. Everything works. Have not had any problems with the wireless part. Just had to put in password into all wireless equipment. Password can be found on the back panel of the box.
